Cat's Eye refers to chrysoberyl displaying chatoyancy — a sharp, single band of light that appears to glide across the stone's surface, caused by parallel needle-like inclusions reflecting light within the gem. True chrysoberyl cat's eye is considered the finest example of this optical effect in any gemstone, prized for a sharp, well-centered "eye" and a honey-to-olive green body color.
